Project Statement
This series documents the growing severity of the COVID-19 crisis in the U.S. through my personal experience. I began quarantine in Providence, RI, on the campus of Brown University where I am finishing a PhD. On March 23, I drove to Atlanta to spend the rest of the quarantine with my partner, Hillary Li. These photos track the growing desperation of the crisis from Providence to Atlanta, over time, through my partner and group of friends, all of whom feel particularly disenfranchised as PoCs confronting the pandemic from positions of vulnerability. I aim to bring visibility to this existential struggle, to announce a message of solidarity to other PoCs in isolation, that we are not alone in our isolation.
