I grew up in rural Lancaster, Kentucky. Growing up in a rural area is an isolating and suffocating experience at times. After a certain point you feel as though there is nothing new to see or do. No new people to meet and talk to. Some take comfort in this, others feel trapped. I am somewhere in the middle. These images represent the nostalgia, simplicity, beauty, and solitude that I feel is connected to this land. Captured on black and white film with a simple caption, these images speak for themselves.
