Gotcha Coffee Co. is a bright and energetic coffee brand. It does not fit the normal, natural aesthetic many often associate with a coffee company. It focuses on the history of coffee production with a history pamphlet and how brands can honor this legacy. This project includes a logo, business card, two package designs, a history pamphlet, and an identity guide.
The audience of this project is trendy young to middle aged individuals. Gotcha Coffee Co. will be for sale in local coffee shops in Louisville, KY and then expand, hopefully remaining in up and coming, young and trendy cities. This brand takes color risks and allowed me to step out of my comfort zone. Inspiration for this project came from other branding projects involved in coffee, seltzers, and juices. Many new brands have been popping up and design firms like Break Maiden and Sasso and Co., to name a few, have been inspiring me because of their creativity and new takes on design.
Besides color, the main elements of this project include a hand lettered font. This makes the logo is unique and recognizable. It also includes a simple rabbit illustration that can stand alone as a symbol. Rabbits are full of energy and reflect the brands goals. The tail of the rabbit is disconnected and has been pulled apart and made into a pattern that is used throughout the company. The identity of this brand has been intentionally created to show unity and cohesion.
Gotcha Coffee Co. was created to break the bounds of a normal coffee brand. It takes elements from multiple disciplines of design and incorporates them into one project that reflects my design style and ability. Typography, layout, branding, and illustration have all been integrated within Gotcha Coffee Co. I hope looking at this work evokes the same feeling coffee gives you during your mornings and puts a little pep in your step.
