Entangled Hearts
Wire (various sizes and thickness), yarn, sewing thread, drill
For this sculpture, I used a drill and various wires differing in thickness to create a three-dimensional shell that, to me, resembled an abstract organ; the heart. After created the sculptural form, I added fleshy colored yarn as a material to act as blood and flesh within the piece. I later added thick purple yarn within the center, spherical form of the sculpture and created texture and form to fill the space within the spherical form. This piece is vibrant and immediately catches the eye of the viewer, while almost instantly making you feel uneasy. That's the point! I want my audience to reach out and touch it.

Capture Me
Cardboard, hot glue, yardstick, box cutters
For this sculpture, I used a life-size camera that I had to individually measure each aspect of the camera accurately so that I could "blow up" the dimensions and create an enlarged camera sculpture. I created texture within the lens and really challenged myself with measuring and overall accuracy to create something realistic and recognizable, but also, and art form that pushes boundaries such as size and space.

Hands of Life
Plaster, yarn (white), cardboard designed butterflies, wooden plank, nails, hot glue, drill
For this sculpture, I really toyed with this idea that artists' are creators and how my hands, as an artist, enable me to create art and share these messages with my audience. I found quite a bit of religious inspiration within this piece and explored myself and who I am as an artist, and this piece really spoke to me about what I was doing and what I am because of my art and because of the creative process.
