Living in between-Present, Interactive Media, 2019
“Living in between-Present” is an interactive augmented reality piece about changing the look of American objects. I have chosen these objects, which are pizza boxes from my daily life, to visually translate my experience as a migrant with them on to their physical surface.Food is one of the most significant representatives of my home. As a migrant with specific food culture, one of the most important differences that I face here is associated with food. In contrast to my country; Iran, in the USA, I usually eat my food alone. Every day, instead of sitting with my family members around a cuisine, I deal with fast-food products, packed in cardboard boxes. In this piece, as a migrant, I am symbolically exposing my loneliness by narrating how I deal with food alone from early morning till night.
